Male Guard: "...and when he opened up his locker, all those fake snakes we packed into it burst out! He freaked out so much, I never thought I'd see somepony run out of the room that fast! After that, he..."
Female Captain (in head): Out of everypony in my unit, I just had to end up on patrol with Mr. Chatterbox...

I swear, it's strange... Sometimes I can blaze through an image in a few days with somewhat decent shading, and yet it can take me an indefinite amount of time for a piece with flat colors. I guess I have an odd pace for drawing. Oh well...
Anyway, I drew inspiration from this week's theme from the #MLP-ATG-Alumni. The theme for the week?
Draw a pony of the night
The batponies, despite being visually awesome, don't seem to get much love. I blame it on their very short appearance time in the show. They need more than just one 30-second appearance. That said, have some batponies!
The female guard is feeling rather annoyed due to the male guard talking her ears off for the past two hours. He's like a male version of Pinkie Pie, going on and on and on about whatever is on his mind at the moment, from pranks his squadmates have played, to the current weather, to whether Pony Joe puts too many sprinkles on his doughnuts or not. Needless to say, she's not particularly happy about the fact that she'll be listening to him for another four hours.
Even the captains have to put up with the occasional annoyance.
I loved this so much! First of all the technique you use it's so clean and pretty it makes me jealous, the female guard's expression just reflects here opinion about the male guard, who is in his own world talking cheerfully, nothing you would think of one of Luna's royal guards. What I don't really liked is where they're patrolling, in my opinion it would be better to have as a background a part of the Canterlot castle, as my first impression was that they were on a date, I knew what was going on when I read the description, maybe it was just me.
Hell yes batponies! I can happily claim that my last three comments included an exclamation along those lines. I think it's great that they are only drawn by those who're especially fond of them - I wouldn't want batponies to be popular enough to frustrate people who don't like them by having to put up with them whatever gallery or group they browse. They are mostly fanon, after all.
Anyways, amazing job
